Course Placement

St. Joseph Academy uses the High School Placement test to assist in placing 9th graders in the correct level classes.

We look at a combination of the results from the HSPT, middle school grades, and any additional standardized testing they have taken to help determine the correct placement.  For more information on the HSPT, please visit this site.

The placement test will be given on two dates, December 13, 2025 and January 10, 2026.  Please do your best to be at one of those two dates as makeup dates will be limited and will occur during the school day.

You will receive the link to register for the HSPT after you apply for admissions, your application fee covers both the application and the HSPT test.  

10th and 11th grade applicants will not be required to take the HSPT.  We will place them in the correct level classes based off of their current performance in high school level classes.
