DIANE ALBANO
 |
My name is Diane Albano. I was born in Johannesburg, South
Africa, attended Catholic School all 12 years at the Holy Cross
Convent in Victory Park, Johannesburg and then earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree with a double major in English and French
Language and Literature from the University of the
Witwatersrand. My husband Tom also attended the University of
the Witwatersrand. His family spent a total of six years in
South Africa because his Dad's New York based company had sent
him to oversee a large construction project. Tom and I were
married in 1978 in South Africa and we moved stateside in July
of 1979, to a small place called Palm Coast. I was a stay at
home Mom for ten years after our first son was born in 1982. In
1991, I co-founded St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Preschool and
co-directed it for 6 years.
I joined the St. Joseph Academy school community in July of
1998. I was a CPS parent, an SJA parent, a member of the St.
Joseph Academy Advisory School Board and a volunteer prior to
becoming the Assistant to the then Admissions and Development
Director, Mrs. Trudy Hellstrom. My days as an Assistant ended in
October of that same year, when Mrs. Hellstrom left SJA to run
her retail store. I then assumed duties as Director of
Admissions and assisted with Development until two years later
when I was named Director of Development. In 2009 Pat Keane was
brought on to head Admissions so that I can now devote my full
attention to Development.
I am passionate about involving parents, students, alumni and
friends of the Academy in the life and mission of our school. I
believe that the faith formation offered in Catholic schools is
the greatest gift we give our children.
This is my eleventh year at the Academy. Four of our children
have graduated from SJA. and one is currently a Senior.
