ADMISSIONS

Admission Policy

St. Joseph Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school programs. Students from Catholic, private or public school systems may seek admission to St. Joseph Academy. Admission is contingent upon academic and disciplinary standing and available space. No student expelled from another school will be granted admission to St. Joseph Academy.

 

New Student Admissions 2012-2013

 The application process is as follows:

  1. Submit all documents listed on the New Student Checklist to the Admissions Office. The Application Fee must be submitted with the Application.

  2. Upon receipt of the documents and fee, the Admissions Committee reviews the student file.

  3. The Office of Admissions contacts the parent(s)/guardian(s) for an appointment. Please allow one hour for required meetings.

  4. The prospective student and at least one parent/guardian meet with the Principal, Mr. Michael Heubeck for an admission interview.

  5. Upon the Principal's verification of acceptance, the course selection will take place.

  6. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will meet with the Business Manager to arrange the method of payment for TUITION AND FEES.

 

Ninth Grade Admissions

The Explore Placement test is required for all rising Freshmen. Please call (904)824-0431 to register your son or daughter for the Explore test which is scheduled for January 21, 2012 in the Cafeteria at St. Joseph Academy. Students should arrive by 7:50 a.m. and bring a simple functions calculator and the $20 test fee. The test materials and pencils will be provided.

 

Application packets, Tours, Shadowing with an SJA Student, School Information

Application packets for 2012-2013 will be delivered to Catholic elementary school 8th graders in January. They will also be available from the Office of Admissions.
